CyberHubs Testimonials – Estonia

CyberHubs is connecting education, industry and public organisations at national level around one shared mission: developing cybersecurity skills aligned with job and learning opportunities to overcome the shortage of cybersecurity professionals at European level. Listen from each country, how the CyberHub model helped them tackle their specific cybersecurity challenges. Want to hear more? Join us at the European Cybersecurity Fest in Vilnius, Lithuania or online on 14 October to get more real-life insights and to build collaborations with other cybersecurity stakeholders from across Europe.
What is the most pressing cybersecurity challenge in your country or region today?
Estonia’s digital society depends on strong cybersecurity capabilities, yet the demand for skilled professionals continues to outpace supply. Organisations across both the public and private sectors face increasing difficulty in finding talent with practical up-to-date cybersecurity expertise. At the same time, rapidly evolving technologies and regulatory requirements require continous upskilling and closer cooperation between industry, education providers and policymakers.
How does your CyberHub help address this challenge?
CyberHub Estonia addresses this challenge by bringing together cybersecurity companies, universities, public sector stakeholders and training providers within a collaborative national ecosystem. Through skills needs analysis, awareness-raising initiatives, expert events, industry engagement and international cooperation, the CyberHub helps align cybersecurity education and training with real market needs while strengthening connections across the cybersecurity community.
What concrete value or impact has the CyberHub generated so far in your country?
CyberHub Estonia has strengthened collaboration between key cybersecurity stakeholders and increased visibility of cybersecurity (skills) challenges at the national level. Importantly, it has created a dedicated platform for cybersecurity organisations to come together and collaborate more closely. While cybersecurity has traditionally been addressed as part of broader ICT topics, the evolving threat landscape and growing skills needs require a more focused approach. Through workshops, conferences, awareness campaigns, international partnerships and contributions to Estonia’s cybersecurity skills strategy, the CyberHub has helped create practical opportunities for knowledge exchange, skills development and long-term ecosystem growth.
Why should other countries establish CyberHubs?
CyberHubs provide a practical and scalable model for addressing cybersecurity skills shortages through national collaboration and European cooperation. By connecting industry, academia and public institutions around shared objectives, countries can better identify skills gaps, coordinate actions and accelerate workforce development. The network approach also enables valuable knowledge sharing and cross-border learning between countries.
Why should people attend the European Cybersecurity Fest 2026 in Vilnius?
The European Cybersecurity Fest 2026 in Vilnius will bring together experts, educators, industry leaders and policymakers from across Europe to discuss the future of cybersecurity skills and workforce development. Participants will gain practical insights, discover successful collaboration models, exchange experiences with peers and explore how national initiatives can contribute to a stronger and more resilient European cybersecurity ecosystem.
