CyberHubs Testimonials – Greece

CyberHubs is connecting education, industry and public organisations at national level around one shared mission: developing cybersecurity skills aligned with job and learning opportunities to overcome the shortage of cybersecurity professionals at European level. Listen from each country, how the CyberHub model helped them tackle their specific cybersecurity challenges. Want to hear more? Join us at the European Cybersecurity Fest in Vilnius, Lithuania or online on 14 October to get more real-life insights and to build collaborations with other cybersecurity stakeholders from across Europe.

What is the most pressing cybersecurity challenge in your country or region today?

Greece’s ICT sector faces a structural shortage of thousands of cybersecurity professionals, while the implementation of NIS2 has raised requirements even further. For SMEs in particular, compliance costs and limited in-house expertise often mean that cybersecurity remains reactive rather than strategic, leaving the broader business ecosystem exposed to growing and increasingly complex digital risks.

How does your CyberHub help address this challenge?

As the national ICT industry federation, SEPE brings together companies, academia and public authorities around a shared roadmap. In cooperation with the Athens University of Economics and Business, we translate market needs into targeted training, skills intelligence and policy input, providing companies with practical tools and actionable guidance rather than abstract recommendations.

What concrete value or impact has the CyberHub generated so far in your country?

SEPE has developed a national skills forecasting model that maps future cybersecurity talent needs and has co-organised NIS2 awareness webinars with the National Cybersecurity Authority to help member companies prepare for compliance. This work enhanced direct dialogue between industry and public authorities, translating regulatory requirements into concrete, actionable guidance for our members.

Why should other countries establish CyberHubs?

For an industry association, the CyberHub model provides a ready-made channel for translating EU cybersecurity policy into practical action for businesses. By integratingnational initiatives within a common European framework, countries can bring industry, academia and public authorities around the same table more quickly, exchange proven practices and avoid developing cybersecurity capabilities in isolation.

Why should people attend the European Cybersecurity Fest 2026 in Vilnius?

The European Cybersecurity Fest 2026 will bring together individuals and organisations that are shaping Europe’s cybersecurity capacity in practice. For a federation like SEPE, it is an opportunity to learn how other countries are addressing similar challenges, build partnerships with counterparts, and contribute to shape the future development of the CyberHubs initiative.
