From Classroom Curiosity to Cyber Careers: CyberHub Slovenia Launches Its Cyber Roadshow

As part of the “Slovenia Needs Cybersecurity Experts” campaign, CyberHub Slovenia organised its first two Cyber Roadshow visits to primary schools. Together with schools, companies and partner organisations, the initiative brings cybersecurity professionals directly into classrooms and presents cybersecurity as an accessible, diverse and future-oriented career field.

The first visit took place on 14 May 2026 at Milan Šuštaršič Primary School, in cooperation with companies: Telekom Slovenije and Forvis Mazars Slovenia. First experience brought cybersecurity closer to eigth-grade pupils. The Roadshow continued on 8 June 2026 at Brezovica pri Ljubljani Primary School, where representatives of Women4Cyber Slovenia, Smart Com and Telekom Slovenije delivered short, interactive sessions for ninth-grade pupils as part of the school’s Career Day. Through practical examples, personal career stories and insights from the field, the speakers connected cybersecurity with young people’s everyday digital lives and introduced the diverse roles, skills and career paths available in the field.

The visits highlighted that cybersecurity is not only about programming or highly technical roles. It also requires analytical thinking, communication, organisation, awareness, understanding of users and cooperation across different teams. By meeting real professionals, including visible female role models, pupils gained a more concrete and relatable picture of what working in cybersecurity can look like.

The activities demonstrate the value of cooperation between CyberHub Slovenia, schools, education partners and companies. Further Cyber Roadshow visits are being planned for the autumn and winter.
