Cybersecurity Skills Strategy: Belgium

CyberHub Belgium’s Cybersecurity Skills Strategy addresses the growing demand for highly skilled professionals and the challenges posed by both a shortage of experts and a mismatch between available and required skills. These gaps could lead to security risks, missed business opportunities, and pressure on productivity, ultimately hindering economic growth in Belgium.

To enhance national cybersecurity and resilience, CyberHub Belgium fosters collaboration between industry, academia, and government institutions. The strategy is structured around three key pillars: Attract, Enable, and Elevate, supported by a “Watch” observatory to monitor skill requirements and talent gaps, and a “Manage” governance structure to ensure project oversight and ecosystem attractiveness.

CyberHub Belgium leverages the Cyber Made in Belgium for Talents (CMiB4Talents) initiative, which brings together over 130 representatives from industry, academia, and government to focus on cybersecurity skills development and awareness. Through collaboration with CyberHub Belgium full partners and CMiB4Talents work groups, the strategy sets out concrete actions to strengthen cybersecurity expertise.
